The “First Annual Twilight Ride for RP” kicked off Mother’s Day weekend – May 12 – 14 at the Mazda Raceway Leguna Seca, in Salinas, Californina. (mazdaraceway.com) located approximately 10 miles inland from Monterey. Professional race car driver Kyle Marcelli was acting RPASF brand ambassador.
Participants were invited to bring moms and families as well as RV’s, campers and tents to this remote location to enjoy cycling the race course with the remainder of the weekend spent watching the “stampede of prancing horses” as these high-performance race cars are lovingly called. The Italian stallions dueled it out in Round 1 of the 2017 Ferrari Challenge their first time back at this track since 2014.
Attendees enjoyed an exciting weekend which began by riding bicycles on the challenging 2.238 mile race track with its 180 foot elevation change complete with the tracks signature downhill plunging “Corkscrew” turn.
