Meredith’s Cycling Adventure – 1
Meredith Fitzpatrick age 35 has had a dream this last ten years, to trek across America on her road bike. This summer her dream was realized when she teamed up with the Fuller Center for Housing (FCFH) non-profit to raise funds to eradicate poverty housing. Fuller Center For Housing promotes partnerships with individuals and community groups building and rehabilitating homes for those in need.
FCFH created three fundraising rides to chose from; east coast, west coast or cross country. Meredith chose the later. Her goal – to ride through twelve (12) states cycling 3600 miles over two months time to raise $3500. She would quickly raise her goal from $3500 to $5000. In addition to this challenging ride cross country she and her team mates would help build or repair homes along their journey. Meredith’s adventure began June 3, 2017 in San Francisco, California with participants aged 14 to 77 symbolically dipping their rear wheel into the Pacific Ocean. The first weeks journey was 374 miles and would take them as far as Fernley, Nevada.
