Pic of the Day! Eel & Red Bike
Did you know that there are approximately 800 marine eel species known to science? Moray eels are often thought to be particularly vicious. To be fair, morays would rather hide from humans in crevices or their burrows much preferring to flee the scene rather than to fight. They are shy and secretive creatures attacking humans only when they need to defend themselves or they mistake you for being a predator or prey. Eels have an acute sense of smell, however their vision is not especially good. Probably why this eel pictured had to move in so close to see Red Bike. 😉
